Wei Žî da indicio de progreso y éxito (en las circunstancias que implica). (Vemos) un zorro joven que casi ha cruzado (la corriente) cuando se le sumerge la cola. No habrá ventaja de ningún modo.

Wei Žî intimates progress and success (in the circumstances which it implies). (We see) a young fox that has nearly crossed (the stream), when its tail gets immersed. There will be no advantage in any way.

Que se esfuerce como si invadiera la Región de los Demonios, donde durante tres años le llegarán recompensas (a él y a sus tropas) desde el gran reino.

El NUEVE superior, no dividido, muestra a su sujeto lleno de confianza y, por ello, banqueteando (tranquilamente). No habrá error. (Si él) alimenta esta confianza hasta que (es como el zorro que) se sumerge la cabeza, faltará a lo que es recto.

Sobre el nombre
«Travesía no cumplida»: Legge explica que Wei Žî es lo contrario de Kî Žî: el logro aún no se ha realizado y la corriente no se ha cruzado.
