Î indicates that with firm correctness there will be good fortune (in what is denoted by it). We must look at what we are seeking to nourish, and by the exercise of our thoughts seek for the proper aliment.

La tercera línea, dividida, muestra a uno que obra contra el método de nutrir. Por firme que sea, habrá mal. Que durante diez años no emprenda acción alguna, (pues) no será ventajosa en modo alguno.

The third line, divided, shows one acting contrary to the method of nourishing. However firm he may be, there will be evil. For ten years let him not take any action, (for) it will not be in any way advantageous.

La cuarta línea, dividida, muestra a uno que mira hacia abajo en busca de (el poder de) nutrir. Habrá buena fortuna. Mirando con la mirada fija y descendente de un tigre, y con el deseo que lo impulsa a saltar una y otra vez, no caerá en error.

The fourth line, divided, shows one looking downwards for (the power to) nourish. There will be good fortune. Looking with a tiger's downward unwavering glare, and with his desire that impels him to spring after spring, he will fall into no error.

La quinta línea, dividida, muestra a uno que obra en contra de lo regular y lo debido; pero si permanece en la firmeza, habrá buena fortuna. No debe, (sin embargo, intentar) cruzar la gran corriente.

La sexta línea, no dividida, muestra a aquel de quien procede el nutrir. Su posición es peligrosa, pero habrá buena fortuna. Será ventajoso cruzar la gran corriente.

Sobre el nombre
«La nutrición»: Legge explica que Î es el símbolo de la mandíbula superior y que, como nombre del hexagrama, denota nutrir, sea el cuerpo o la mente, a uno mismo o a otros.
